What makes your bakery “Balkan”?
Our bakery is built on a family tradition that began in Kosovo in 1986. We use time-honored recipes passed down through generations to create authentic products like burek, mantija, and somun bread, bringing a true taste of the Balkans to the community.
What is burek / mantija / etc.?
These are some of our most traditional Balkan specialties! Burek is a delicious pastry made of thin, flaky phyllo dough filled with ingredients like salty feta cheese , meat , spinach , or potato. Mantija are small, savory pastry parcels, typically filled with meat or feta cheese.
Do you offer vegetarian/vegan options?
We offer many vegetarian options, including our vegetable pizza, various cheese-filled pastries like Burek with feta cheese, and sweet cakes. For vegan options, some of our breads like the Mini Somun only list wheat as an allergen, but we recommend contacting us directly to confirm ingredients as options are limited.
Do you have gluten-free options?
Yes, we offer a Strawberry and Mandarin gluten-free cake. However, please be aware that all our products are prepared in a common kitchen, so we cannot guarantee against cross-contamination.
Can I pre-order online or by phone?
Yes, you can place orders through the "Order Now" section of our website. For larger or more specific pre-orders, you are welcome to call us by phone.
Do you offer catering for events (weddings, birthdays, office parties)?
Absolutely. We would love to prepare a generous spread for your event. Please use the large order form on our website or call us to discuss your catering needs.
How far in advance should I order large quantities?
We recommend ordering as far in advance as possible, especially for very large quantities, to ensure we can have everything freshly prepared for you. Please contact us directly to coordinate a timeline for your specific event.

Do you have seating or is it takeaway only?
We have a limited amount of seating for those who wish to enjoy their coffee and pastries in the bakery, asour main focus is takeaway.
Do you offer coffee and drinks?
Yes, we offer freshly brewed coffee and a selection of cold drinks to go with your baked goods. Plus, if you buy a pastry before 10:00 in the morning, you’ll get a coffee on the house!
Do you accept card/Vipps?
We accept all standard payment methods, including credit and debit cards. Please check in-store for the most current payment options like Vipps.
I’ve never tried Balkan food — what should I start with?
We highly recommend starting with one of our most beloved classics! Try a slice of Burek with feta cheese for a savory, flaky experience, or our Mantija for delicious little pastry bites. And you can never go wrong with a loaf of our soft, traditional Somun bread.
